Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has endorsed Joseph Ole Lenku for Kajiado governor’s seat.
The two leaders, who have not been in good terms, vowed to work together in a ceremony attended by 100 Maasai elders over the weekend.
Nkaissery succeeded Ole Lenku at the Interior Ministry following a series of terrorist attacks during Lenku’s reign as CS.
“I want you to be very serious with the job you are seeking as it’s not a simple one,” the CS told Lenku.
Lenku on the other hand vowed to work with all local leaders to improve the lives of Kajiado residents.
The former CS thanked Nkaissery for his support and outlined his political agenda for the community.
Lenku said his main focus will be to improve education, water supply, women and youth empowerment in the Maasai region.
