The late Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery's family has finally allowed Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye and MP Elijah Memusi to attend Nkaissery's burial on Saturday.

According to family spokesman Saitoti Ole Maika, the wife of the late CS Helen Nkaissery is apologetic of what happened at her home last Sunday when the two leaders were forced to leave the home.

“The two are mourners like other Kenyans and are free to attend the funeral on Sunday. Whether their mourning will be genuine or not, that will be between them and their God,” said Maika.

During a funeral service on Sunday, Nkedianye with two other opposition politicians were forcefully chased away from the home the home in what has been termed as a security measure.

Kajiado West MP Moses ole Sakuda said on Monday that that there were armed morans on the compound and that they could have attacked the trio if left there.

“Blood could have been shed had the three refused to heed the family’s advice to leave. Kajiado County Commissioner Harsama Kello delivered the family’s message to the three leaders,” Sakuda said.

“Helen has clearly said she will not want drama or side shows during the burial of her husband. This is the reason she has scheduled a family meeting on Wednesday at Bissil home after all her children have arrived from abroad. One of the agenda is the conduct of young morans at the home of the late Minister,” said Maika.
