Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery has been put on a two days-notice to revoke the order that detached the security detail of Coast Governors Hassan Joho and Amason Kingi.
Leaders from Raila Odinga led party, ODM have warned CS Nkaissery that ‘democracy would take its course.’
Msambweni legislator Suleiman Dor led other MPs allied to the opposition party are demanding immediate action of retract from CS Nkaissery.
MPs Abdhulswamad Nasir (Mvita), Rashid Betsimba (Kisauni), Badi Twalib (Jomvu) and vocal Mishi Mboko (Mombasa Women Rep) were among the coast leaders present during the Saturday 7 press conference.
The government is yet to give a clear explanation in regards to the security withdrawal.
Mombasa governor, Joho had on Thursday told off President Uhuru over his statement that the Jubilee government had funded great scale projects at the Coast.
Instead, Joho asserted that the Jubilee government was growing cocky of projects that were funded by other entities.
While launching a foot bridge, President Uhuru on Thursday said, ‘Over Sh600 million has been used to build this foot bridge’, and that foot paths and slums at the Coast would be upgraded at a cost of Sh3.2 billion.
Joho however, claimed that the same project begun way before Jubilee ascended to power in 2010.
