Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkissery  has assured Kenyans of their security ahead of the festive season.

Speaking at KCB Grounds in Kajiado during the International anti-corruption day on Friday last week, Nkaissery said that adequate security mechanisms have been put in place to guarantee security ahead of Christmas and Happy New Year celebrations.

Nkaissery stated that police will increase patrols across the country.

He appealed to Kenyans to remain vigilant and work with the police as they streamline security.

He warned criminals goons planning to cause havoc during this festive season saying that they will be dealt with accordingly.

“I urge Kenyans to remain vigilant this festive season and work with us (the police) to tame any form of crime during this festive season,” he said.

Nkaissery also said that adequate security mechanisms are being formulated ahead of the 2017 polls.

He said that the national government is keen to guarantee a peaceful 2017 general elections.
