Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has endorsed his predecessor Joseph Ole Kenku's bid for the Kajiado gubernatorial seat.

Speaking over the weekend during a ceremony a traditional ceremony, Nkaissey urged Lenku to serious with the role he is seeking.

"I want you to be very serious with the job you are seeking as it's not a simple one," he said.

During the ceremony, the two leaders buried the hatchet after months of name-calling and not seeing eye to eye.

"I am just like your father, and if you have decided to take this step of seeking forgiveness and blessings from me, then I will do as you wish," said Nkaissery.

The ceremony was conducted by over 100 Maasai elders.

On his part, Lenku thanked Nkaissery, promising to work towards bettering the lives of Maasai people.

"This is a day I have been waiting for for a long time, I'm assuring my supporters that the train has now started moving, and nothing will stop us from getting the gubernatorial seat," he said.
