Johanna Ng’eno has branded Deputy President William Ruto and Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery ‘disgrace’ to the people of Rift Valley amid escalating violence among communities living in Baringo.

A number of people have been left homeless following assassination of two politicians, an incident that has reportedly sparked animosity.

But the Emuria Dikir MP says the two top politicians from Rift Valley should bear most responsibilities should the crisis escalate.

“William Ruto and Joseph Nkaissery should explain to us why we are experiencing animosity in Baringo. They are reluctant to take actions yet people are leaving their homes,” he said.

Ng’eno, who has been at loggerheads with Ruto added: “They are disgrace to our people because they think of their selfish interests. We are monitoring them closely.”

Earlier, Baring Senator Gideon Moi had written to the government to take swift action to curb an impending violence among local communities in the region.

The vast Baringo County is occupied by Tugen, Pokot and Turkana communities which have often been embroiled in vicious cattle rustling animosity.
