Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Joseph Nkaissery has slammed Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's leadership.
The CS accused Governor Joho of mismanagement of the county and misappropriation of funds.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Akamba Handicraft Industry in Changamwe, Nkaissery said Mombasa County has nothing to show for since the inception of devolution four years ago.
“The Mombasa county government has money but there are no roads it has constructed, there is no water it has brought here - there is nothing," he said.
"The county government has nothing to show for the more than Sh32 billion it has received from the National Treasury in the last four years,” he added, as quoted by The Star.
Nkaissery challenged elected leaders in the county to ask Governor Joho to explain how the money was spent.
