Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has told off opposition coalition Cord over their calls that he resigns from his position due to a perceived rise in extrajudicial killing cases.
Speaking in Kajiado on Sunday July 10, Joseph Nkaissery said that the cases of extrajudicial killings executed by the police officers have nothing to do with his office as the Cabinet Secretary.
He however said that the Police officers responsible should carry their own responsibility in the crime.
"How can I carry the blame of a mad police police officer who decides to fire bullets at innocent people?" asked the former Kajiado Central Member of Parliament.
He further accused Cord coalition of politicising the issue of Security, saying that they have no mandate to tell him to resign.
Nkaissery said he is unmoved by Cord's calls for his resignation because he has always been very hardworking in his role.
"You can't scare the general," Nkaissery said.
He further told Odinga to embrace everyone, saying that a good nation needed to integrate and accept opinions and actions from divergent points as long as they did not interfere with the rights and freedoms of others.
