Interior cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaiserry has challenged Cord Principal Raila Odinga to provide evidence over his claims that the National Intelligence Services is being used by the government to rig elections.
According to Nkaiserry, such talk can cause anxiety in the country, as the election date draws near.
“The IEBC have the mandate to look into that and find where the truth lies, and so I don’t think we should keep on making propaganda, these are issues that should be handled carefully in this country,” he said.
Odinga sensationally claimed that the goverment is using the NIS to register voters from neigbouring countries, which gives the Jubilee administrating an unfair advantage.
The leaders have been moving across the country sensitizing supporters in their backyards to register as voters, knowing well that every vote counts.
The opposition have not been left out either, with Cord co-principals crisscrossing different parts of the country to talk to their supports as well
The IEBC hopes to register over 6million new voters by the end of the exercise, with the exercise entering the second week.
The registration exercise will come to a close on February 14, with both parties of the divide hoping to have had new registered voters in their backyards to push their agendas.
