Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery has cautioned political aspirants seeking party tickets against causing chaos and violence during the primaries.
Speaking in Kajiado, Nkaissery warned that the government would take a stern action against aspirants involved in violence, including getting them barred from contesting during the forthcoming general elections.
“Once we get concrete evidence we will recommend to IEBC that persons involved in violence to be barred from the August polls,” he noted.
He stated that the government has put security measures, in a bid aimed at averting any chaos during nominations.
“I have directed county commissioners and county police bosses to vigilant and take immediate actions against persons perpetrating violence. I would also like to urge Jubilee supporters to conduct peaceful campaigns,” he said.
He also drummed up support for Jubilee, urging residents to reelect President Uhuru Kenyatta during the August polls.
“Vote all Jubilee candidates because the Maasai people have seen development during the Jubilee era,” he observed.
