The interior CS, Joseph Nkaissery has warned Cord leaders against the protest to IEBC offices.
Nkaissery said the government will not allow anyone to incite the public to engage in activities that can threaten peace and stability of the country. He stated that leaders must follow the law in airing grievances on the IEBC and its members instead of inciting Kenyans to resort to mass action to forcibly remove the commissioners from office.
“We will not allow anyone to incite Kenyans to engage in activities like mass action that can threaten peace and stability of the country,” he said.
He was speaking on Sunday during a church service in Kimuka, Kajiado where he also added that the law is clear on the removal of commissioners from office.
“The law is clear on the removal of officers from office. There is nowhere in the constitution that says officers can be removed from office through mass action,” he said.
