With the GOTV Shield Cup entering the quarter finals phase this weekend, Bandari FC players are determined to reclaim the title they won two years ago.
The team, which has seen an impressive run of form over the past few weeks, will take on a bogey Sony Sugar side that shocked Ulinzi Stars in the round of 16 to book their quarter final slot.The match will be played at Mbaraki Stadium, Mombasa.Speaking ahead of the match, Bandari coach Paul Nkata who led Tusker FC to a domestic double last season says that he is keen to win the title with his new side."We are in the competition to win not just to participate but our target this season has been to finish top eight in the league. The shield has not been in my plans but if we win and go through to the final and even win it that will be a plus for us," said the Ugandan tactician as quoted by Capital Sports.The Dockers who knocked out Gor Mahia in the round of 32 before bundling out Nakumatt FC in the last 16 remain the favourites to win the trophy for the second time in three years.
