After being overrun by their bogey opponents Chemelil Sugar in a 1-0 loss on Friday during their Kenya Premier League (KPL) match played at Chemelil Complex, Bandari FC coach Paul Nkata has blamed fatigue for the damaging loss.
The Dockers went into the match on the back of an emphatic 3-0 win over Thika United.
However, they failed to replicate that performance against the sugar millers who frustrated them for the better part of the game before the smash-and-grab victory.
Speaking afterwards, Nkata acknowledged that his players played below per as they failed to utilize many goal scoring opportunities that came their way before falling victims to their lackluster performance.
"We had our chances but never utilized the chances and the boys didn't play as per the expectations as they were fatigued after traveling long distance. In football, you expect to win and lose,” said the Ugandan tactician.
Following the loss, Bandari FC dropped to 7th on the log ahead of their next match at the Mbaraki Stadium against Gor Mahia who dropped points as well after being held to a barren draw by a spirited Sony Sugar side.
