After a string of poor results in the last few matches, Bandari FC coach Paul Nkata has spoken on his plans for the 2015 GOTV Shield champions ahead of the second leg of the league season.
Bandari started the season on a bright note, topping the league log at one point, but the side experienced poor run of form going into the league break as they dropped 8th.However, speaking to a local source, the Ugandan tactician who led Tusker FC to their 11th KPL title in his only season at the club expressed optimism that the side will bounce back to winning ways in the second leg."We want to do better after the break, and realize our already set objectives. Yes, we are going to sign two or three players for the team, we want to strengthen a little to ensure that we do not struggle,” Nkata said."Our main aim is a top five finish, right now we are not there but at the end of the season, that is what we want," he added.Bandari's problem of late has been lack of goals with the striking trio of Dan Sserunkuma, Jacob Keli and Enoch Agwanda failing to score goals regularly. If Nkata is to revive his striking force, then a new striker who can challenge the struggling trio for a place in the starting lineup has to be brought in.Defensively, the team's back line has also been porous of late as they continue shipping in goals almost in every match. This is despite having a promising start as they played four matches without conceding a goal. For typical Nkata teams whose foundation is built from the back, then several more additions have to be brought in, though the defense doesn't need complete overhaul.Of course the team's main priority for now is to fill the gap left by long-serving captain Anthony Kimani who was released by the club after securing a job deal at the Kenya Ports Authority, the club's sponsor.
