Kisii county residents have been assured by the National Land Commission that the public land which is allegedly grabbed by individuals is back for public use.

Addressing the media after the five-day event of grilling individuals who allegedly grabbed public land, the National Land Commission led by Chair person Abigail Mbagaya she assured the residents that through the report and the findings they got from the alleged grabbers they are going to act as they are mandated.

“We wish to assure the public that as the commission we are going to act as by the findings we have so that that public land is back for development,” said Mbagaya.

“Some of the residents have no confidence with us but we wish to inform you that this commission is strong and it will make sure that the necessary measures are taken so that the land comes back to the government so that we can develop our county,” added Mbagaya.

She added that according the findings they got from most people who have acquired land is that most of them lack necessary documents which need to show how they acquired land.
