Former Editorial Director Wangethi Mwangi has been rehired by Nation Media Group (NMG).
This comes as a result of a decline in revenues over recent years due to the cut back in advertising by the government and major corporates.
According to reports, Wangethi was hired by the media house to help revive its editorial output and increase its revenue.
Wangethi, who left NMG roughly 10 years ago, has been hired as the non-executive director and will be playing an advisory role.
NMG has been at the center of a lot of criticism following their coverage of the presidential elections and the judgements of the Supreme Court.
The media house recently released a headline alluding that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had been 'let of the hook' while in true sense a majority of the Supreme Court judges came to their final decision after noticing several irregularities in the transmission of results.
Wangethi is also a member of the Media Complaints Commission (MCC) after Information, Communication and Technology Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru appointed him.
