NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has insisted that he cannot be compelled to participate in the October 26 polls.

Speaking when he met Maasai leaders on Monday, Odinga said not even the court can force him to participate in the polls.

His coalition has maintained that they will not participate in the planned polls if their irreducible minimums are not met.

“This is a democratic society, we live in a democratic society and there is what we call Freedom of choice, if I choose not to participate in a pre-rigged election process, it is my democratic right and no court can order me to participate,” he said.

His sentiments come at a time when the Jubilee Party has intensified campaigns, moving to make more inroads in the Coastal region where they have taken on board disgruntled leaders from the coalition.

The party has been camping in the coastal region, where they have welcomed on board former Taita Governor John Mruttu, former Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan and former Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye.

Odinga is set to leave the country on Wednesday for UK and USA, with his move further casting doubts on whether or not he will be participating in the planned polls.

The coalition has continued to host demonstrations calling for the ouster of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba.
