Patrick Wainana Thika Town MP speaking at Kimuchu Primary school in the constituency said awarding of tenders will be done free, fair and transparently.

“I am aware that some CDF officials may collude with cartels to get tenders in the region, but I want to assure that I will supervise the allocation of tenders to contractors keenly to ensure no cartel gets tenders using the backdoor as it has been happening in the previous MPs’ tenures,” he said.

The lawmaker challenged youths to apply for tenders in the constituency to improve lifestyles.

“Youths should not sleep in villages, let them come out and apply for tenders such as upgrade of roads, renovation of local health centers and schools as this will improve their living standards,” he added.

He said contractors who will fail to complete work in time once given to them will be blacklisted.

“Lazy contractors doing shoddy works will not be tolerated in the constituency because we have many contractors who will be awarded the various tenders in the region,” he said.

The MP said no foreign contractor will be given tenders in the constituency.
