Kisii university students leaders held a press conference on Monday morning to express their anger over land grabbing claims.

On 9th February 2013, retired president Mwai Kibaki awarded the university a charter and had promised to donate some piece of land for its expansion but the land is now allegedly grabbed by cartels.

The 20.5 hectares of land neighbors Kisii University and is where the Kisii coffee research institution sits on.

Currently, there is minimal land to expand the university hence depending on the promised land.

Students have vowed to demonstrate to ensure that the piece of land is not tampered with by cartels.

"We shall not allow, we will not allow, we ought not to alow any cartels to grab our land," Don Alex Opiyo, a student leader said.

The students leaders have promised to fight to the end to make sure that the land is in the hands of the university.
