Waiguru said this in his Kiandutu office on Wednesday when he met the cinema hall operators, he said that he had received information that some of the boys in the area are skiving school to enjoy watching movies in some cinema halls in the area.

“I have directed police officers to apprehend any cinema show operator who is found to be showing videos to the children during week days,” said Waiguru.

He warned them that failure to adhere to the directive will force him to prohibited the video show business. He said that some operators of cinema halls still allow children into such rooms saying that he will deal with them accordingly

He further said that he has allowed the operators to show the cinemas to the children during weekends from 10 am to 4 pm saying that this is a step to make sure that the children are indoors during the night.

He said that the operators have to abide by those rules and if not, he will bee forced to restrict the cinema halls.

“I have only allowed the children to be in cinema halls during the weekend from 10am till 4pm. This should be understood well because we will not hesitate to arrest you if we find children in your cinema halls during weekdays and especially school hours. I have directed my officers to arrest and patrol the area and they will get those who violate this directive,”  said Waiguru.

He went on to caution the operators against showing obscene cinemas in their premises saying they cause immoral behaviours.

He said that the cinema halls are meant for entertainment and not to incubate criminal and immoral behaviours.

He however suggested that they should also be showing bible stories cinemas to bring up a religious society.
