The vocal MP said cartels must be fought to the end and ensure illicit trade is completely curbed.

“I will never support people who are importing contaminated and fake products such as bad sugar with an aim to sell to Kenyans to make money. It is time Jubilee and NASA leaders should step up efforts and fight cartels who are using dubious means to bring bad products for innocent Kenyans to buy and consume,” he said.

He warned politicians against politicizing the war on contraband sugar saying those opposing Interior CS Fred Matiang’i’s efforts to destroy fake product should be investigated.

“Matiang’i is doing a good job to bring down cartels and their illegal dealings. What we need to do as leaders is to support Matiang’i in the war to ensure no counterfeit products are brought into the country for consumption. Politicians opposed to Matiang’i’s work should be probed because they may be the ones importing the fake products,” he said.

The lawmaker was speaking on Sunday evening during an interview at Kenya Television Network, KTN.
