The flamboyant Nairobi senator Mike Sonko has promised city residents a new Sonko. Speaking on Citizen TV, the moneyed senator said the image of a senator with a “ghetto look” that has been causing an uproar on social media and on streets is now history.
“Lessons are learned with time. Have grown and will now be the city CEO. There will be no more shaggy hair and gold accessories,” Sonko.
The unfamiliarly cool Sonko confirmed that what Kenyans saw during the JKL show is the new image. The well groomed and soft spoken Mbuvi was a contradiction of the man who was controlling the interview and abusing his opponents.
It is yet to be proved if Sonko will be able to behave officially. Voters are waiting to see if the senator will follow protocol when there are thorny issues to solve than direct calls to the president and intimidation of public officers.
Many are eager to witness the Nairobi senator who will not hold protests whenever his will is not honored. A number of Nairobians are keen to see if Sonko will not customize his office with gold and other unethical phone models among other questionable designs.
