Nairobi County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Devolution, Public Service and Administration Larry Wambua has warned that laxity will not be tolerated by the new county administration.
Wambua had met all Nairobi Sub County Chiefs and Ward Administrators at Charter Hall in the city to discuss the new administration working policies.
He singled out indiscipline among members of staff as a major threat to effective and efficient service delivery, citing cases of absenteeism and laxity.
"The County plans were at an advanced stage to introduce a biometric machine for members of staff to clock in and out. I therefore urge you to take an early initiative to sensitise your staff on future expectations,” he said.
Wambua assured the County administrators of his total support, save the laid down rules and procedures are adhered to.
He further committed to introduce reward processes for recognising outstanding staff in service delivery.
“The role of the Government is to facilitate but not to frustrate business, and we are committed to support you to the very end but you must also be committed to deliver.” said Wambua.
