City Hall has fixed potholes in over 15 roads in the Nairobi city centre and estates.
This has been carried out since the county government leased road repair technology machines three weeks ago.
Sonko's government hired a pothole patching machine before contracting experts from Avery East Africa Company for the repair works.
According to a Wednesday statement by Transport executive Mohamed Dagane, patching was successfully conducted on Koinange, Muindi Mbingu, Tom Mboya and Wabera Streets as well as Moi and Hailie Selassie avenues.
“Moi Avenue, from Hilton Hotel to the Bomblast roundabout and then to Kencom stage, Limuru Road and roads around City Hall and the annex have been patched,” he said.
He said the county wi
ll acquire their own machines next year.
“The machine will be on lease as the county procures two in this year's financial year. We have already effected this in our supplementary budget."
“These machines will reduce road maintenance costs by 50 per cent and the work will be much faster," he added.
