Nyanza coordinator of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Evans Misati has affirmed that there are no new IDPS who will be compensated and therefore the public should not be misled by conmen.
Speaking on Saturday during a phone interview with this writer Misati noted that he has received many calls from new "IDPs" asking when they will be paid.
Misati said stated that the alleged new IDP claim to have been registered recently.
Those people who were registered before 2009 will be fully compensated and the government has the full list, we are not registering new persons and if such case comes it should be treated as a criminal" said Misati .
This comes after the County Commissioner Joseph Rotich warned the public to be aware of conmen going around registering people to be compensated as IDPs by soliciting up to Sh5000 from unsuspecting individuals. PHOTO:
