Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta not to entertain any calls for talks between him and the opposition.
Addressing hundreds of residents who turned up in Eldoret town to celebrate the declaration of Kenyatta as the winner of the repeat presidential election, Chemno said Kenyans had spoken through the ballot hence no need for further talks over elections.
He asked those who participated in the election to concede defeat and allow the country to move forward.
"Those who opted not to be part of the election should know that the game is over. They failed to show up and the referee had to award points to a team that was present," said Mr. Chemno.
"..and as Uasin Gishu leaders we want to tell our president and his deputy that we don't want to hear anything about talks. Kenyans have spoken clearly through the ballot and their word is final. No more 'Nusu Mkate' government," he added.
Nandi Senator Kiprotich Cherargei who also joined locals in Eldoret town to celebrate Kenyatta's reelection called for the swearing in ceremony to hastened.
