Opposition leader Raila Odinga maintains that Western and Nyanza regions are indispensable in the opposition team's basket in their bid to beat Jubilee team in August.
A visibly disappointed Odinga urged Western Kenya locals to maximize on the remaining mass registration period to increase numbers.
Figures released by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission last week, indicates that regions perceived to be opposition strongholds recorded dismal figures in first two weeks of voter registration.
"Opposition team depends on Western and Nyanza but the current figures are not what we expected. You have to go out and spread this message to friends," he said in Bungoma on Saturday.
The ODM leader further said: "For us to finish this race early, we need numbers and that cannot only happen if you register. We need more people to come on board."
Odinga had pitched tent for the second day in the vote rich region which saw him visit Kakamega and Bungoma counties.
Similar voter registration rallies are being carried out by Musalia Mudavadi and Moses wetangula in the region.
