Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa has cautioned residents against staging demonstrations during today’s (Thursday) presidential repeat polls.Addressing journalists on Wednesday in Mombasa, Marwa noted that the government will not tolerate any act of lawlessness including protests on election day."Tomorrow is voting day. Don't loiter in the streets," he stated.Marwa, however, raised concern over the sudden upsurge of youth in Mombasa."I hope they have come to relax. If they have come for any other reason, they will see fire," said the no-nonsense regional coordinator. He further affirmed that the government is committed to providing security to Kenyans wishing to participate in the polls."There will be no gaps in security. All parastatals that will be working will be secured," he said.NASA leaders in the county have since urged residents to boycott the elections, arguing that it does not meet the constitutional threshold. They further asserted that it will be pointless for residents to participate in an already predetermined exercise.Raila on Wednesday urged his supporters to stay away from polling stations, and maintained that ‘there will be no election today’.
