Police officer in charge of Witeithie Estate Police post Sergeant James Linguli confirmed that they are determined to turn the area into a crime free area
The officer was speaking in his office on Tuesday morning when he confirmed the killing of three suspected thugs who were ambushed trying to break into a homestead in the area. He said that the the suspects were armed with crude weapons like machetes and axes.
He also said that they recovered a master key which is suspected to be used in robberies which is rampant in the in the Estate.
He confirmed that the officers managed to shoot the three suspects after his officers found them breaking into a house within the Estate a few minutes past midnight.
He however said that police officers will continue fighting insecurity and criminals in the area adding that there are others with guns and the officers will ensure that they get them before they harm more people.
“We know that suspected thieves in this area are using guns and we will not rest until we have those guns before they hurt anybody else,” said Sergeant Linguli.
He urged the area residents to inform police officers about any suspicious event they come across to help the police deal with the insecurity of the area.
