Wiper Party Secretary General Hassan Omar has downplayed reports that there may be a possible fallout in the party, following a public altercation between party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday after Senator Muthama skipped a Wiper meeting to attend a media briefing by CORD at Capitol Hill, that ran concurrently , Omar accused the media of sensationalizing the matter to depict a misunderstanding in the party.
"Stick to what Muthama already said; somebody somewhere is manufacturing stories. We are not aware of the fall-out," said Omar.
"We will not allow you (the media) to put words into our mouths. There is no fall-out," he added.
This comes after Kalonzo rebuked Muthama for warning Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana of a fierce political battle if he did not fold up his Muungano Party to Join Wiper.
