The confirmation of employees of the Kisii County Assembly is still on, after a notice was given directing that the employees, who were employed in July last year not be given salaries.

According to the directive from the Kisii County Assembly clerk James Nyaoga, the public service board that is mandated with the employment of personnel has not met to ascertain the issue.

The notice also says that the court had given a directive that the employees should not to be given any salary until the the court gives its judgment on the matter.

This comes after Bosicha-Borabu Member of County Assembly Samuel Onuku moved to court to challenge their employment, noting that they were employed contrary to the law.

Meanwhile, after business operators in Bobaracho market in Kisii County protested over the grabbing of the market land, Bobaracho sub location Assistant Chief Vincent Omanga has said that there is confusion on where exactly the land is supposed to be located.

Omanga said that the land used by the residents to conduct their income generating activities is a private land, and the owner is supposed to start developing the land, a move that he said will see them relocated to another place.

He however asked the residents to be calm as he is working with the area Ward Representative Samuel Nyangenya in finding them a place to do their business.
