There is nothing interesting like being absorbed in any of the Kenyan disciplined forces.
After hustling with life, one feels relieved at last. The heartbreaking thing is when you are paid for the service delivered. Revelations have come out that the new prison wardens who were absorbed in February this year have not been paid their dues for almost five months.
Speaking to this writer through phone, one of the affected wardens based at Kisumu Women Prison lamented how they have been affected by lack of payment.
"Since we were appointed in February, the government has not remitted our salaries. Life is difficult as we live on debts," lamented the warden who sought anonymity for victimisation.
An inspector who is currently based at the training headquarters and who also sought anonymity confirmed the sad state of affairs.
She said that the new colleagues were suffering a lot and due to lack of salaries.
