Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Bundotich Zedekiah alias Buzeki has expressed confidence that he will beat his main rival incumbent governor Jackson Mandago despite being an independent candidate.

Buzeki lost the Jubilee party ticket to Mandago during the nominations.

He however believes that he will still clinch the seat.

Speaking during an interview at Radio Citizen on Monday, the billionaire businessman said people's support remain the same even after failing to secure the Jubilee party ticket.

He pointed out that, it was his supporters that asked him vie on an independent candidate after being rigged out by a skewed nomination process.

"My supporters when I was in Jubilee are still with me as they are the ones who said I should be on the ballot so that they can elect me their governor," noted Buzeki.

"It's a fact that Uasin Gishu is a Jubilee zone but the electorate are now more enlightened and I can assure you that come August 8, people will look at who is on the ballot and what he/she stands for not which party," he added.
