President Uhuru Kenyatta has yet again warned Jubilee Party aspirants across the country against expecting favourism when the party holds its primaries in Feberary.
Uhuru, who is on a voter registration campaign in Central Kenya, said the party will respect the will of people by supporting popular candidates.
He also warned candidates against smearing campaigns adding that the party will take 'stern' actions against those deviating from the party's internal regulations.
"I do not have a preferred candidate at any level. All aspirants are equal and its their responsibility to reach people and ask for the favour to serve them," he told has supporters in Nyeri on Friday.
"The party believes in the rule of law and we will not hesitate to take actions against those violating the regulations. Only popular candidates will be issued with party nomination certificates," added Mr. Kenyatta.
He urged locals to register as voters insisting that bad leaders are elected by citizens who do not turn up during elections.
