Following recent comments from President Uhuru telling Peter Kenneth to cancel his bid and support Joho, Mr Kenneth has declined.
"It is time to abandon your bid and support the winning team of Sonko-Igathe," the President said as reported by The Star.
However, the Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant believes he is the best option for Nairobi.
Peter Kenneth is competing for the position against Mike Sonko, Evans Kidero and Migunu Miguna.
He called incumbent Kidero a ‘constant loser’ and Mike Sonko an ‘unmitigated disaster’ ahead of the general elections.
"I have walked all through and seen the troubles Nairobians are facing. It is evident that even Sonko cannot be a solution to these problems," he said.
In April this year Mr Kenneth lost to Sonko in the Jubilee primaries and disagrees with the President that Senator Sonko is the best choice.
He however agreed with the President that Kidero has failed the citizens of Nairobi, but believes voters should decide who they want to lead.
"As the party leader, he is allowed to carry his candidates around...but then governorship is not about party prestige...it is about service delivery to the people," the independent candidate said.
