Kisii County Governor, James Ongwae has told his critics he has no time for politics and instead he is focusing on fulfilling the pledges he made to voter prior to the last general polls.

Speaking during a funds drive for 13 SDA churches at Nyatieko church on Saturday, the governor noted he will not succumb to calls to abandon his work and waste time in premature politics, saying it will delay and derail his development agenda.

Ongwae, accompanied by Kitutu Central Ward Rep Pius Abuki and nominated MCA Mengo Ochwangi challenged the electorate not to be fooled by some leaders out to hoodwink them to gain politically.

The Governor, who has never attended the Gusii Community leaders unity campaigns spearheaded by area Senator Chris Obure, said the voters will assess the leaders development record and re-elect or bundle them out, stressing he is not worried with the Gusii unity campaigns.

His remarks comes few days after Obure clarified the unity is meant to galvanizse the community a head of the 2017 general polls and will not affect the leaders political inclinations.

The Senator, who spoke at a national FM station, rubbished the alleged ouster of  ODM county officials by former mayor, Samwel Omwando and his team of parliamentary aspirants, stressing ODM officials are firm and have not defected to any party as claimed by detractors.

He defended the State House visit by Kisii County’s MPs and MCAs, saying the leaders have a right to visit the Head of State, President Uhuru Kenyatta and deputy to follow up on development matters.
