Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura who has had a frosty relationship with his ODM party has told his opponents to be prepared for a humiliating defeat come August 8.
According to Obura August elections will be a walk-over for him as he has 'weak' opponents as compared to 2013. However, he will have to negotiate his way past the primaries first before the real contest in August.
Speaking at Migosi Primary School, Obura hit at his opponents challenging them to show what they had done for the community.
"I know some of my colleagues are only bothered by my development projects.I will continue to serve my people," he said.
Ahead of the party primaries, the lawmaker has exuded confidence that he will trounce his opponents majority of whom are political heavyweights in the region including former Kisumu Town West MP Ken Nyagudi, former Kisumu Mayor Sam Okello and Elphas Oyugi.
Also in the race for the ODM ticket is former TNA secretary general Onyango Oloo.
