Musalia Mudavadi spokesman Kibisu Kabatesi has dismissed claims by Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali that a Cord MP visited the ANC leader to convince him to drop his 2017 presidential bid.
Mr Kabetesi termed the allegations as "hogwash" and said it was part of the propaganda orchestrated by Jubilee to unsettle the planned National Super Alliance (NASA).
He said that Washiali and others were working on ruining Mudavadi’s plans in exchange for "handsome handouts" from the Jubilee side.
"It is a well-known fact that the likes of Washiali are better off campaigning for Uhuru than offering themselves for re-election," he said, adding that Washiali together with other ‘Jubilee sympathisers’ had been dismissively appointed as JP campaigners because no one among them was going to the ballot.
"Unfortunately for Uhuru, the likes of Washiali profess support for Jubilee during the day but swear allegiance to handsome hand-outs at night while begging for accommodation in the opposition," he said.
