A section of Nominated MCAs in Nakuru County have accused their elected counterparts of undermining them by shooting down their motions. This follows the shooting down of a motion tabled by nominated MCA Irene Njeri seeking to have the county government establish a centre for maturing the talents of youths. “I had tabled the motion in good faith considering that uplifting and nurturing youths’ talents is a priority in the Jubilee government,” she said. “(But) there have been a great rift between the elected MCAs and the nominated MCAs and the speaker, Susan Kihika, seems to be supporting and favouring the elected MCAs,'' said Njeri. Njeri, however, vowed to float the motion again once the house resumes from recess on November 11. Shooting down of the motion left the house divided further as it went on a 10-day recess. Differences between the nominated and elected MCAs first came into public limelight two weeks ago when a section of MCAS plotted to impeach speaker Susan Kihika. Kihika, however, enjoys the support of majority of the MCAs. Before minority leader Daniel Ambale moved the adjournment motion, some MCAs were opposed to the move.
