Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura has cleared the air explaining why he left ODM.
Mwaura who on Friday faced the ODM Disciplinary Committee to explain why he joined the Jubilee Party said he quit the Orange party because of pressure from voters in Ruiru constituency.
The lawmaker who represents Persons Living With Disabilities in Parliament said: "I expect to run for the seat of MP in Ruiru constituency and I cannot win in Ruiru on an ODM ticket."
He is among leaders (elected and nominated) who have declared to run for various elective positions in 2017 on a Jubilee Party ticket.
Unlike other ODM politicians who rebelled against the party and joined JP, Mwaura took time and visited ODM party leader Raila Odinga to explain his situation.
"ODM should understand me very well. Ruiru is a Jubilee stronghold and I cannot run on any other ticket other than Jubilee Party," he added during the committee meeting chaired by former Parliament Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim.
Others who faced the committee included Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama, Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, Governors Salim Mvurya (Kwale) and Ukur Yatani (Marsabit).
ODM had threatened to expel them from the party if they failed to face the disciplinary committee.
