Nominated senator Emma Mbura on Wednesday denied claims before senior principal magistrate Francis Kyambia in a Mombasa court that she had an extra marital affair with Kalinga Mgandi, a Mombasa activist.
Emma Mbura filed a defamation law suit against Mgandi after he claimed of having a love affair with the senator.
Mgandi allegedly sent abusive audio clips saying Mbura is fond of snatching other women's husbands.
“You are not woman enough if you sleep with your children and snatch other women's husbands. All men in this forum be careful with this harlot,” read part of the charge sheet.These insults are politically instigated by the concluded Malindi by-election in which it was unraveled that Mgandi is CORD sycophant within Jubilee party,” said Mbura.
“I told him he was like a snake because he claims to support us yet he was supporting someone else, this did not go down well with him that's when he started hurling insults on whatsapp groups we shared,” she added
Mgandi allegedly recorded seven audios which he sent to four different whatsapp groups.
Mbura said the scandal has affected her children who have turned to a laughing stalk by their friends and neighbors; she also added she has been affected physiological, physically and emotionally.
“My dignity as woman has been damaged, I can no longer stand in front of people who considered me their role model,” said Mbura
The case is set to be heard on the 11th of December 2016.
