This call was made y nominated Senator Martha Wangari during an interview with Inooro TV on Monday.

She said that statistics that Senate Finance committee have for financial spending for year 2013/2014, the county only spent Sh 800 million against Sh 5 billion given by the national government.

The rest, sh4.2 billion was channeled toward recurrent expenditure.

“If we need development, we must stick to the constitution which states that out of the money a county receives from the national government, 30 percent should go to development and in the year 2013/2014, only Sh 800 million was used for development in Nakuru,” she said.

She, however, could not answer why the recurrent expenditure was so high saying that it is a matter before the committee and answers will come in due course.

She also took a jibe at a group youths who heckled Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua and Nakuru Women Representative Mary Mbugua last week.

She said that it was improper for such to happen and it only showed how much society has not lived up to the thought of women leadership.
