Mandera governor hopeful Noor Hassan Noor has promised to champion security if elected in the August 8 general election.
The former Provincial Commissioner (PC) says that he is experienced on security matters and will protect citizens from militia attacks.
He said that frequent terror attacks in the county have scared away investors and slowed down economic development.
Noor also promised to fight radicalization, saying that many young people are being lured to terrorism and crime.
“Streamlining security will be my number one agenda if I am elected in the August 8 general election,” Noor said.
Noor further pledged to champion ‘Nyumba Kumi’ security initiative, saying it is critical in ensuring law and order.
He said that the initiate has not been fully implemented resulting to frequent terror and criminal attacks.
The former PC also pledged to create employment, boost the economy and develop infrastructure.
Noor urged residents to endorse his bid, saying he represents the change locals have ben yearning for many years.
He criticized incumbent Ali Roba, accusing him of failing to champion development.
Noor said that Roba has disappointed residents, adding that the Jubilee governor does not deserve re-election.
The former Provincial Commissioner is seeking to unseat governor Roba on Economic Freedom Party (EFP).
Roba on the other hand is seeking re-election on Jubilee party ticket and exudes confidence of being wining a second term basing on his development track record.
