Political Leaders from North Rift counties that constitute the North Rift economic bloc (Noreb) have expressed their commitment to a common approach of dialogue on any conflict.

This was reached at following a peace meeting at Kainuk, Turkana South on Sunday which was attended by six governors.

During the meeting, Noreb chairman who is also the Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago further said they had resolved to harmonize ideas and projects for the benefit of the people.

"There can never be any meaningful development without peace and understanding amongst the communities and counties," Mandago noted."I am happy as the Chair of the North Rift Economic Block to relay that, all leaders in the region are committed to a common approach of dialogue on any conflict," he added.

Devolved units within Noreb have been battling with insecurity issues that emanate from cattle rustling and fight for resources amongst communities.

Governors who attended the peace meeting were Josephat Nanok (Turkana), Prof. John Lonyang'apuo (West Pokot), Stephen Sang (Nandi), Alex Tolgos (Elgeyo Marakwet), and Stanley Kiptis (Baringo).

Turkana Deputy Governor Peter Lotethiro, Senator Prof. Malachy Ekal, and legislators James Lomenen, Ali Lokiru and Jeremiah Lomurkai were also present.
