There have been tremendous successes in Baringo and Marakwet following insecurity reports from the area.

The government says there have been no incidents since the security forces launched operations a week ago.

As a way of responding respond to the skirmishes, State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu said the number of officers in the area had been increased.

In Marakwet, he said there were four new camps that had been opened.

“On the other hand, in Baringo, we have substantially increased the number of officers and with the recruitment of police reservists in Market and Baringo, we expect normalcy to be restored and sustained,’’ he said.

During his weekly briefing, Esipisu noted the national government had done a lot to return normalcy in the North Rift and Laikipia regions.

“There have been no incidences in Laikipia County, except in one particular ranch where an outhouse or lodge was set ablaze by enraged illegal herders following tough police action,’’ he said, Sunday.

Speaking in Nyeri, he noted one officer had been injured during the Laikipia skirmishes and was recovering well.

He clarified: “There were no other injuries to report.”
