Elders from the upper Eastern region have appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to re-appoint Amina Mohamed as Foreign Affairs and Hassan Wario Sport and Culture to his cabinet during his second term.
The Elders lea by former Gabbra Council of Elders chairman Mr Omar Godana said they voted for President Uhuru Kenyatta during August and repeat October elections and he should reciprocate by re-appointing Foreign Affairs and Sports, Culture and the Arts Cabinet Secretaries into his government.
“ Pastoral communities from the Upper Eastern have confidence with Jubilee under Kenyatta’s administration and re-appointing Ms. Mohamed
and Wario would gain mileage for his successor to get more votes in future,” said Godana.
The former chairman said that Mohamed has been assisting locals by providing medical care and monthly relief under her mother‘s name where over 300 residents are benefiting.
Godana said that Borana speakers in both Marsabit and Isiolo Counties are fully behind Wario and appealed to President Kenyatta to consider their request by re-appointing him to his current docket.
Another speaker Ms. Kabale Dida said that Wario has started several development projects which have borne fruits for the locals like
cinema Mashinani in Isiolo and a modern stadium in Marsabit county.
She added that Wario is the only cabinet minister who can unite warring communities in both counties since he is not partisan to any group despite him being a Borana.
