Mandera Governor Ali Roba has appealed to North Eastern locals to reject National Super Alliance (NASA), saying that opposition outfit is confused and has no agenda for Kenyans.
Governor Roba wants locals to instead endorse President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in the August 8 polls.
Addressing supporters in Mandera Town on Monday, Roba said that NASA has done nothing to demand for North eastern votes.
He said that the opposition outfit has no space in North Eastern, adding that locals will massively endorse Jubilee Party in the August 8 polls.
“NASA leaders should stop lying to themselves that North Eastern is their stronghold or swing vote, that is not the case because as a region we are firmly in Jubilee Party,” he said.
Governor Roba accused the opposition of preaching propaganda politics and allegedly inciting Kenyans against the Jubilee administration.
The Governor said that Jubilee government has achieved massive development which opposition chiefs failed to even initiate while they were serving in government.
Roba said that North Eastern region will not be swayed by propaganda.
He further warned some opposition leaders against luring some clan elders to negotiate for locals support.
Governor Roba also lashed out at senator Billow Kerrow’s Economic Freedom party (EFP) claiming that it was colluding with NASA to lure locals.
He said that Kerrow’s party’s agenda is to divide the region ahead of the August 8 polls.
Kerrow formed EFP two months ago saying its agenda is to champion the interests of marginalized communities in the country.
He has been under criticism from a section of leaders among them Garissa Town MP Aden Duale who claim that his party is out to create divisions in the region.
