This was announced today after a long day meeting which brought together representatives from the three counties which included the three governors, twelve Mps and 45 members of the county assemblies at Manzoni Hotel in Machakos county.

Through a statement that was read to reporters by Saku Mp Ali Rasso, the new political block would bring a political strength in the electioneering season.

The political block dubbed TIM ( Tana River, Isiolo and Marsabit) is formed on basis of commonness interms of language, race and the perceived marginalization.

They added that they would support jubilee coalition in the forthcoming government.

"We want to remain in Government, we want our issues to be handled collectively. He added that, " we will support president Uhuru Kenyatta and soon we will be announcing our political re-alignment at the local level." he said.

His sediments were echoed by Tiyah Galgallo Isiolo Mp who said that the three counties were marginalized and shared common problems of low level development.

"We are three counties with one people, diversity is our strength", she said.

Ms Galgallo defended their union arguing that other areas such as Rift valley, Mt Kenya and Western regions had their strong blocks which helped them bargain politically and that they were following suit.

She added that as a region they were ready to negotiate for alignments that will fast track unity and development.

According to the leaders, the region had lagged behind in development because the leaders were not united and it is for that reason that they were bringing all the communities together.

"You can only solicit for support from the Government only if you are united at the regional level," said Ali Warrio Bura Mp.
