North Eastern Regional Coordinator Mohamed Saleh has send a stern warning to residents allegedly sympathizing with terrorists.

Saleh says that police are investigating claims that some locals  could be colluding with terrorist to plan and orchestrate terror  attacks.

Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Monday, Saleh said that the government will deal ruthless with anyone found aiding terrorism or criminal activities.

He said that police have beefed up security across the region, adding that terror elements will be dealt with accordingly.

“We are not going to show any mercy to anyone and whoever engages in terrorism or any manner of crime should be ready to face the full force of the law,” he said.

Saleh called on residents to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies as they strive to keep law and order.

The North Eastern Regional coordinator appealed to local leaders to step in and encourage residents to embrace community policing adding that politicians have a crucial role to play on matters security.

His remarks come amid concerns over deteriorating state of security in some parts of North Eastern in the recent days.

On Friday last week, two teachers and a local were killed when suspected Al-Shabaab militants stormed Qarsi primary school in Wajir county.
