Drivers of the North Rift transport company yesterday held special prayers on road safety and called for peace ahead of the 26th repeat presidential polls.

The founder, Joseph Nige said that their profits had dropped significantly due to political tensions in the country.

He stated that when the country is experiencing such tensions, it becomes so tricky for such a business to thrive because people do not travel.

“For some weeks now, people have not been travelling because of the political state in the country. We urge our people to embrace peace and our leaders to preach peace too,” said Ngige.

He further added that the planned demonstrations by NASA could also paralyse the transport industry.
